Hey i'm Marcelo (to those who know me MARS) here's a bit about me. What i do is visually interpret what people want from and in their websites so more than a designer i'm a visual interpreter, in a nutshell that's what i do.

I started Kuality Design back in 2002 when it was just an idea for printing t-shirts. That quickly went no where so I started designing flyers, posters and other print projects. It actually goes back a bit more than that as I've been drawing since 5th grade (inspired by J. Padgett) and messing with computers since 1996 (inspired by L. Butcher of B.L.T Shirt Printers) when I got a copy of Photoshop 2 and started to explore the possibilities with my celeron processor saving files in my Iomega zip drive (yeah those were the days).

Over the years thanks to many great people who helped me to get to where I am especially thanks to J. Block for giving me my first real break at Batanga in Greensboro, NC where I learned a lot about designing for the web and picked up some really practical tips on how to better use Photoshop. After almost a year there they shut their doors in N.C. because businesses were starting to feel the pinch from the credit crunch that was about to hit massively over the next 2 years so i was outta work.

I was determined to find a way to continue to improve on my design skills and work from home even if the hours would be long and the pay low to begin. That's when through diligent searching i started working with ApogeeInvent which really gave me the freedom to explore new design techniques, take a lead role in creativity, and begin learning CSS that allowed me to mature in the web game. I give a lot a credit to the AI team and thank them for allowing me to spread my wings. Not long after i decided to relocate to my birth country of Uruguay with my family. Being there gave me new perspective on the possibility of living and working from where i wanted to and that was just another step and challenge in life that allowed me to grow alot.

Today i live in Cochabamba, Bolivia with my family and continue to do what i love: designing while working with people from all over the world. This year my goal is to network with more people, learn new tricks in Illustrator and continue to broaden my horizons of design. It's so true that when you love what you do you wake up everyday excited to face new challenges and keep adding work to your experience.

Finally thanks to all the customers, mentors, employers, friends, family and people i've met along the way that in some way have contributed to the way i see things, have inspired me, and have helped me to get to where I am, none of this is really possible without you all.

Oh for those of you wondering if i have a college degree, yes and no but mainly no. I did my 4 years at a University in Northern Virginia (where i grew up) but couldn't finish at the time because I couldn't afford to take out another loan so while i don't hold a degree i did study Internet & Multimedia studies. I hope to go back one day and even pursue a Masters in Web Design but i'm just not there yet. Regardless my experience has taught me much and actually i think i'd be a better student now adays anyways;)

Here's to life...cheers!
